Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-19 · Applies to the SnagAll extension for Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox.

Short version: SnagAll does not collect, sell or send your browsing data anywhere.

What the extension does

When you click the SnagAll icon, it reads the current page only to find images, videos and file links, and shows them to you. Files you choose are downloaded by your browser directly from the website to your computer.

Data we collect

• Browsing data: none is sent to us or anyone else. The list of found files stays inside your browser. While a download is running, the addresses of the files are kept in the browser's temporary extension storage so the download can continue if the browser restarts the extension; this storage is cleared when you close the browser.
• Downloads: files go straight from the website to your Downloads folder. They never pass through our servers.
• File type check: for a file whose address has no extension, SnagAll may ask that website for the file type (a "HEAD" request, without your cookies) so the file is saved with the right extension.
• Analytics, tracking, advertising: none.

License key (Pro only)

If you buy Pro, the license key you paste is sent to our payment provider, Polar (api.polar.sh), only to check that it is valid and to register this browser as one of your activations. In Firefox you are asked for permission before the key is sent. The key and a random install id are stored locally in your browser. Purchase details (name, email, payment) are handled by Polar as merchant of record under its own privacy policy: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy

Your controls

• You can remove the license from the browser at any time ("Remove license from this browser"), which also frees the activation.
• Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored.
• To ask about purchase data held by Polar, contact support@snagall.app or Polar directly.

Permissions and why they are needed

• activeTab, scripting: read the page you are on, only after you click the icon.
• downloads: save the files you selected.
• storage: remember your license key, a random install id (used only for license activation) and the progress of a running download.
• api.polar.sh, api.lemonsqueezy.com: verify a Pro license key (only the provider we use is contacted).
